Introduction to Makayla Comelli

Hello, thank you for clicking on my blog!

My name is Makayla Comelli and I am currently studying my first year at CQUniversity, Mackay in a bachelor of business and accounting.

I graduated high school last year and was very eager to get back into studying after a 5 month break. I was worried that by having such a long break I would have forgotten pretty much everything, well.. thankfully I have not forgotten EVERYTHING, but I am definitely still getting into the routine of work and assignments again.

I am working full-time as a trainee accountant, I play netball on Wednesdays, I am also currently the newest Student Ambassador for the Sarina Community Branch Bendigo Bank and I am studying full-time uni. However, I still make time for the other things I enjoy such as, waterskiing, motorbike riding, playing with my three dogs and researching conspiracy theories on the internet in my spare time! πŸ™‚

I have always had an interest in business as I studied it for 3 years in High School. My father own his own engineering business in Mackay called 3D Engineering Services Pty Ltd and also owns a cane farm, so business has been a somewhat big thing in my life and I know this degree will be very useful because it is such a broad degree that can branch off into several professions and careers. It is also something that Martin touched on in one of the first chapters in his study guide, he said that a lot of business people that work in high managerial roles and positions, predominately come from accounting backgrounds.

other ways this degree will work in my favour is that ill be able to do my own tax and I will develop a better understanding for companies annual reports which will benefit me when I want to start buying shares in the market. πŸ™‚

I hope this gave you a bit of background on who I am, and I hope to get to know most of you who are studying this unit with me.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. β€” Izaak Walton
